Background
The ‘Kodima’ a 6,395 grt general cargo grounded at Whitsand Bay, Cornwall on 2nd February 2002. The vessel was en route from Sweden to Libya with cargo of sawn timber when after the cargo shifted the vessel developed a list. Unable to make safety, the 16 crew were rescued by helicopter in extreme weather. The vessel was safely refloated on 16th February by salvors Wijsmuller.
